LOCATION:

Vancouver Eastside, Commercial Drive area.

Officially Eastside, by car about 15 minutes to the city centre, 20 mins to the airport, and about 35mins to/from the US Border.

The suite is in the area know as Commercial Drive, "The Drive" with its cosmopolitan
mix of trendy through Bohemian to Grunge residents and visitors. Located just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Downtown it provides a more gentle, quieter way of life.

The immediate area has local individually run convenience shops, plus locally run grocery stores, Pubs and Restaurants, clothing, furniture stores.

The whole area can be walked easily, nothing is very far away.

A short ride by Bus or Car, or a significant walk will take you to the waterfront, where bicycle and walking paths on the seawall will thread you along the edge of False Creek, past the English Bay Beaches, around Stanley Park, under the Lions Gate Bridge and alongside the First Narrows inlet and the new community of Coal Harbour - or by turning in the other direction - to Granville Island on the south side of False Creek.

Granville Island is a major attraction, housing The Emily Carr Institute of Fine Art, and a host of independent artisan's craft shops, plus many, many other small businesses - art galleries, a dive shop where you can sign up for underwater training, boat and bicycle rentals, Restaurants and Pubs.

For the 'locals' the Farmer's Market is the big attraction, with fresh everything - Seafood, meat, fruit and vegetables, baked goods and great coffee. Eat in, take out, fast food, name it, it is there.

A small brightly coloured shuttle ferry for pedestrians - bikes too if not too crowded - will get you from one side of False Creek to the other if you don't want to go all the way around. Routes to Granville Island, Stamps Landing (and Monk McQueens restaurant thrust out into the water), the Maritime Museum is a pleasant few minutes escape from the bustle of the city.

Convenient to Downtown by car or bus at the corner, and to the "alternative life" area of Commercial Drive from the cosmopolitan ethnic shops and restaurants, to the bohemian life style of some of the residents.

Cozy, ground floor studio apartment in modern house. Private entrance. Clean & quiet. 3 piece bathroom w/ spacious shower stall, full kitchen, full size laundry. Queen bed plus twin size sofa bed. NON SMOKING.

AMENITIES:

Like a hotel suite, with all the comforts of home. All utilities, towels, bedding, dishes, cookware, all the small appliances, fridge, stove, microwave, full size laundry, Local phone calls, wireless DSL internet connection and satellite TV, are included.
