"I do not know where to start to explain just what a magical place Sungai Gold Bali and the larger Sungai Bali are. I have now stayed there several times (although getting availability can be an issue since they have become better known) and just never feel a need to leave. With the chefs producing food better than most of the better restaurants, a fabulous bar, and levels of service that exceed anything I have experienced on the island across premium hotels and villas, I see it to be counter-productive to my holiday...I simply don’t take the risk any more. It is a private world of the most wonderful peace and extraordinary attention and kindness. As a return guest you are spoiled to an unbelievable extent. And in the case of SUNGAI GOLD, it is so rare to find a couples facility that is a complete residence..not just a hotel room with a plunge pool. A real feature are the fabulous vistas from the most elaborate Bvlgari sun loungers across the infinity pool to the river and then the massive jungle canopies beyond and beside you..and simply no one overlooks you. Within the four Balinese pavilions is the amazing four posted bed complete with massive netted canopy, the plushest mattress and imported linen, and huge white bathroom beyond - with luxury Bvlgari bathroom goodies (even bath bombs for the double bath).. it is simply a knock-out experience..a lasting memory is the lightness and brightness (much of Bali accommodation is dark wood and a little gloomy) and further enhanced by the use of massive mirrors throughout. And on another note do take advantage of the VIP airport arrival and departure service. It adds that extra luxury which is what personifies these amazing properties. "
